Press for mounting and dismounting of chassis including measurements
WASHINA engineering has developed a 3rd generation measuring press that represents a breakthrough in the field of rail vehicle servicing. This fully automated press is designed to streamline the process of chassis assembly and disassembly, significantly increasing the speed and accuracy of repairs. Its development was focused on minimizing human error, resulting in greater reliability and efficiency in vehicle maintenance.
This is the first equipment of this kind used by ČD, which plans to deploy it in other service centres. The equipment is fully controlled by Siemens, which ensures seamless automation and maximum accuracy of all processes.
The control of the press is intuitive thanks to the Siemens Comfort Panel operator display. Additional control functions are available via the Euchner harmonic command controller, allowing easy and safe use. To ensure safety, all movement of the machine is only allowed when actively authorised by the operator, minimising the risk of accidents.
The press is equipped with functions for precise measurement and monitoring. A separate PC with monitor and printer is available for parameterization, archiving of measurement data and printing of measurement reports. The system allows the operator to be divided into groups with specific rights for operation, maintenance and administration. The press is also ready for integration into the customer’s internal networks or for remote monitoring via the Internet.
The equipment is equipped with adjustable prisms for different chassis wheelbase lengths, which can be set in the range of 1500-3300 mm with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. The movement of the prisms is ensured by motors with frequency converters and precise measurement. The prisms are equipped with strain gauge sensors that allow the weight distribution of the chassis on each wheel to be measured. Hydraulic push cylinders can exert up to 60 tonnes of pressure, allowing the chassis to be safely and accurately compressed to the required pressure.
Additional measuring equipment can be added to suit the customer’s needs, including impedance measurement, wheelset runout and other measuring tools. This press thus offers not only assembly and disassembly, but also comprehensive measurement and inspection of chassis parts.
